Francisco is a town in Center Township, Gibson County, Indiana, United States. The population was 469 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1851. Local tradition says the town was named for its first settler, a Spanish laborer working on the Wabash and Erie Canal who built a shack in the area. ==Geography== Francisco is located at (38.333360, -87.447314). There were 189 households of which 30.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.4% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 37.0% were non-families. 31.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 17% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.18. The median age in the town was 39.6 years. 25.8% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 26.8% were from 25 to 44; 26% were from 45 to 64; and 16.2% were 65 years of age or older.
